After really looking at everything going on, my husband and I decided that I will be staying at home starting September 1. I stayed home with my coconut for a year and loved every second of it. I realize some moms prefer working, but I am not one of them. After being a working mother and a stay at home mother, I realized I love staying at home. I never want away time from my son. When I stayed at home, my "me" time was his naps and when I went to the hair salon. That's all I need.
I went back to work when my son was 15 months, got a promotion, and made great friendships and relationships. The only problems is with my husband's career the hours just don't mesh. At first, I was upset about leaving a good job with great benefits. However, I've been meditating and realized this has been a blessing in disguise. I am always so sad at work (even if I don't show it) because all I want is to cuddle, read, and play with my coconut. I am blessed to be able to stay home and help him learn. I get to teach him about everything a toddler needs to, and I have so many fun activities in mind. Don't worry guys, I will definitely share with you! I will have more time to develop more recipes, make videos, crafts, and really up my blog game.
As sad as I am to leave my co-workers, I can't wait to be a stay at home mother. Just call me CEO of the McCann household ;)
Are you a stay at home mom? What activities do you like to do with your little ones?

Congratulations! What a beautiful thing for your family!

Thank you! I love it too ;) Thanks for stopping by! Your blog is so darn cute!
DeleteCongratulations!!! I want to be a stay at home mom too... I can't imagine having kiddos and not being able to spend ALL my time with them! You are very lucky!!! I am not a momma but I work with kids, do LOTS of art with him while you can because that subject is VERY overlooked in the public school system and will actually help him excel in other subjects as well as develop a sense of self and accomplishment... Can you tell I'm studying to be a teacher? lol
ReplyDeleteHappy tuesday

DeleteHow exciting! Once our little munchkin gets here next month I'll be staying home with him for a bit...but then I have to go back to work because my husband is still in school. I look forward to the time when I can be a stay at home mom! :)

I stayed at home for the first year, went to work for a year and a half, and now I'm going back to being a SAHM. Congrats on the little one on the way! I'll be following your blog for updates and pictures :)
DeleteI am very jealous! My husband and I have discussed the option of me staying home, however due to those awful student loans we each owe, it's not in the cards :( That is very exciting that you are able to stay home with our lil' man and teach him the values and lessons you feel are important! Congratulations and enjoy your time home!
ReplyDeleteStudent loans can be a stinker for sure. Try to get as ahead as possible on them so you can! Or maybe you can try to find an at home job?
DeleteThe thing I love most about staying at home is having time to connect with other Moms and kids during the day. Once a week, try to get a baby sitter just for a few hours and have lunch with your co-workers, then you get the best of both worlds. Enjoy. So glad I found your blog, can't wait to hear how it's going. I've joined as a follower!
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking out my blog :) I'll definitely keep that tip in mind!
DeleteI was a stay at home mom and loved every minute of it. I had the pleasure of doing some side work out of my home too and that was a bonus! Congratulations on the decision!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ellen! I think it's one of the best decisions ever made
DeleteI'm sure you and your son are forever going to have fun my friend, great decision :D
