My First New Year's Resolutions

I have never made resolutions for the new year.  Ever.  I'm kind of excited to make them.  Although my husband thinks it's stupid and I'm setting myself up for disaster.  Suck it hubs!  I'm doing it anyway.

Use MyFitnessPal
I want to start tracking my food intake and really understand the calories I consume.  I'm back to eating clean after the holidays wrecked my body.  I'm so over bad-for-you foods.  I'm ready to start feeling energized and healthy again.

Go To A Blog Conference
I really wanted to go to BlogHer, but I don't think this year is going to happen.  I really want to attend some seminars and meet some awesome bloggers in person.  What blog conferences do you suggest?!  I wanna know!

Have More Of A Schedule
I've started to stray away from having a schedule, and I want to start back up.  I'm patiently waiting for my Erin Condren life planner to get here.  It's been printed since the 28th.  I stalk the status and I have no shame.  I also love the Motivated Moms app to keep a cleaning schedule for the household.  It helps me avoid big cleaning days.  Now if only it could clean up my son's toys for me.

Budget and Save $$$
I want to start writing everything down.  What money comes in, goes out, and where it went.  I want to save money for a trip so it's time to bunker down and budget.  That means no shopping for a while.  Tear.

Start Vlogging
I love watching YouTube Vlog videos from other people so I want to do them every once in a while.  It's a great way to get to know people.  Maybe it'll make me not be so boring.

Go Meatless Once A Week
This ties into being healthy and saving money.  I want to go meatless for an entire day once a week.  I can do this!

YouTube Once A Week
Vlogging could tie into this.  I want to consistently make videos.  Tutorials, vlogging, favorites, and maybe some foodie stuff?  What do you want to see?

Be A Tourist
I know a lot of people say this, but I mean it.  I used to live in downtown Seattle and despised every tourist.  They were always in my way, made me late for work, and that freaking Ride The Ducks boat would always go quacking by my apartment.  Literally quacking.  I never went and did the tourist things and I kinda regret it.  I want to start being a tourist everywhere I go and my coconut really motivated this resolution.  I want to show him the world.  shining, shimmering, splendid.

What are your resolutions?

  2. I would suggest against BlogHer.... While you see some amazing bloggers, it has gotten toooo big. And, not educational enough for me. If I am going to spend money to attend a conference, I want to come away inspired and full of information. Not ticked off because I didn't make "the cut" into the seminars, because there weren't enough seats.

    Love you NYR's!!!!

  4. Best of luck! I think resolutions are so much fun to make as long as they're realistic! I LOVE playing tourist! I think it is so much fun, and it's amazing how much more you learn about the history of some areas than locals even know!

  8. Happy New Year! I've used MyFitnessPal. I always gain weight when I STOP using it, so it must work. Also, I think you may be a no-reply blogger? That's what my Blogger Reader indicated. If you want to make sure I just posted this tutorial to remedy it!

  9. New here from the Blog Hop! Great list of goals! One thing I suggest to help you save money and see where your finances are going is Mint.com. I'm kind of obsessively OCD about it, but it has helped me plan and set bigger financial goals! I definitely recommend it!

  13. Why hello! I found your blog from the GFC Blog Hop, and I'm so happy I did. I enjoyed reading your New Year Resolutions!

If you can't make it to BlogHer this year, definitely try to go in 2014. I went to BlogHer a couple years ago and had a blast learning about blogging and, more importantly, meeting so many amazing bloggers who I now call friends! Have you ever heard of Bloggy Boot Camp? The conference takes place in a handful of cities across the states. Perhaps one will take place where you live?

I have quite a few New Year Resolutions too! At the top of my list: travel!

    Happy New Year!

  14. I am sooo over the Holiday food. It was great, but now I feel bleh. As for budgeting, I've tried the whole writeeverything down thing and it's too hard. Instead, I subtract all the bills and how much I want to put into savings from our monthly intake and whats left is what we are allowed to spend! Happy New Year!

  20. I love all of your resolutions. I'm like your husband but these to me are more 'things I'd like to do' than resolutions :) I link up to a great meatless meals party on monday where I find a lot of great recipes.

I'm your newest follower from the GFC.

    Stop on by.
