Ingredients:
- 1 pouch tuna
- 1/2 ripe avocado, mashed (you can use 1/4 but I enjoy my tuna salad on the creamy side)
- 1 teaspoon stoneground mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
- carrots (chopped if you want to mix it in, shredded if you want it on top)
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl (except for the carrots if you want them on top)
- Spread on Ezekiel or your favorite bread
- Top with carrots
- Enjoy!
Have you ever substituted avocado for mayo?

This sounds yummy! I've do a chicken salad with greek yogurt instead of mayo. I'm going to have to try this! I'm always looking for new lunch ideas. :)

This looks delicious! And such a good alternative mayo -- which, as horrible as it is, I'm a huge fan of.
ReplyDeleteThanks love!

I like tuna and avocados, but have never put them together before!
ReplyDeleteI just tried tuna and avocado the other day and I loved it! I use it on my other sandwiches in place of mayo all the time. That and hummus. I love me some hummus on a sandwich! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried to sub avocado for mayo!
ReplyDeleteWe're trying to cut back on meat and dairy so we may have to try this one.

This is how I make tuna salad!!! Except no carrots and I actually use a spicy German mustard :-) Even my littlest guy loves it like that. :-)
ReplyDeleteI just made this tonight. This is just my second time using an avocado. I'm new with them and am really liking the taste and creamyness they seem to add to my sandwiches. I really enjoyed my tuna sandwich using it instead of mayo. I wanted a tish more punch to it for next time ... any ideas?
ReplyDeleteMaybe try adding a splash of vinegar or some horseradish.
DeleteYou can always add cayenne, parsley, or cilantro. I love adding spice to it. Sometimes I use it as a base for a melt. You can always add more mustard or choose your favorite :)
DeleteThank you. I'll definitely try some of those. :)
