How To: Highlight and Contour Like Kim Kardashian

I have had several requests to show how I contour my face.  I need to contour with the 40 extra lbs I’m packing.  Proper contouring and highlighting slims your face and brings dimension in all the right ways.  Think of it like plastic surgery that isn’t permanent.  Obviously it isn’t as drastic but it brings out a better version of you – or at least of me.

What I love about contouring is there are so many different ways to do it.  You can use a bronzer, brown blush, eyeshadow, cream, foundation, powder or whatever new fangled product to use as your medium.  If I am only wearing mascara I will use a bronzer, but when I want to feel glam this is what I do.  This is quite similar to how Kim Kardashian contours and highlights her face.  Love or hate her, you can’t deny she gives good face.

Get ready to get your war paint ready ladies.  It’s time to get glammy!

Please ignore my occasional cross-eyed moments.  My eyes did not want to work together – as usual.  #blindgirlproblems

Huge difference!  Highlighting and contouring is like cheap plastic surgery.

I like my nose on most days but I will always contour it.  It thins, straights, and adds that extra umph!  Occasionally, I will add the line on my nose to create a button effect.  It’s totally optional and something I do 50/50.  I figured for video’s sake why not go all out?
Side note: you should have seen the MAC counter girl’s face when I bought the NC50 foundation.  She thought I was 50 shades of cray!  I might be but at least I know how to paint my face.

Hi, I just love your videos! You have helped this mid-30’s mom get out of a rut and get back into makeup. Your lip look here is so pretty – do you know if L’Oreal still makes the lip liner in Caramel?

Hi Beth! Thank you so much! That means more to me than you know. I don’t know if they do. I use L’Oreal toffee a lot now (it’s a dark brown but I put color over it. You could also use MAC lipliner in Stripdown or Subculture (depending on your skin tone) for a similar effect 🙂
